Digital Paintings Created With YOUR Photos

March 24, 2017  •  1 Comment

Those who have been following my blog know that I have been spending the last few months perfecting my digital painting skills.

This Image is of a Mother and Son!

This time I wanted to take an image that was perfect resolution , lighting and color. Then mix it with a ordinary image taken in a customers home with not so perfect light.. color .. and one that was lacking in details. I wanted to see if I could bring the two images together and create something beautiful despite their difference. The image above is my final image and I am pretty proud of my efforts.  Take a peek below to see how I brought it all together.

Original Image of the dog on the right. Taken from a compressed Facebook copy.

The Image Below is The original image of the Mother of this dog that I photographed for a client a few years back

Take a peek at the close up of the two images after I fused them together and you will be able to see the quality difference between the two.

What makes me any different?

I have loved this art for half my life.. maybe even my entire life. There is nothing in this world more powerful and more cherished then our pictures. Whenever I am having one of those days.. the ones we all have. The ones where we feel like our lives might not be where we want them to be.. that maybe we could have been a better Parent , Wife, Husband , Daughter or Son.  That maybe we are just living in the future and not the present. I invite you to revisit your past. Take out your pictures.

Every single time I look back at the images I took of my kids growing up, the dogs I have loved and lost. Family members that have passed on . Birthdays, Holidays, and "Just Because" days I am reminded how precious life is and how truly blessed I am to have every one of those moments. Because everyone who is taking their last breath will tell you. It is the only thing that matters.

Family , Friends and even our beloved pets all play a part in our life story. We are created to love one another. To appreciate the beauty of this world all around us. Sometimes I think we get so caught up in wishing for the things we don't have that we forget about the things we already do. I have everything I have ever truly wanted in this life. My family and of course all the fur babies I could ever want... well maybe I would like to have a horse.. But I do have the one thing that not everyone can say... The Career I have dreamed of half my life.

So what makes me different from the hundreds of other photographers? We actually have more in common then not. I try not to compare myself to others because we are all unique in our own way. There is some fantastic talent all around me. Some of which I call my friends and deeply admire for their work.

So I should title this NOT "What makes me different"  I should title this "What makes me ..T Hawke Photography.

If you have ever had a session with you me will see it. The pure joy and excitement I bring. The moments I jump up and down because I am so happy about the shot I just got.. It is clear without a doubt I LOVE what I do. I start out with a vision in my mind that is closely linked to your own. And I think of it as a challenge to recreate the image of your dreams. I am self taught. I didn't spend years in photography school or graphic arts. To be honest when I started I couldn't afford to go to school. But I had a passion for photography and I spent years learning the craft from mentors I admired, from books to U-Tube Tutorials. Online classes and workshops created by some of the most talented people in the industry. I taught myself how to use Lightroom , Photoshop and Corel Painter . The learning curve is endless! I had mentors that taught me the business end of putting this all together.. and most of all I had a fire in my soul to bring my dreams to life. I truly believe if you can bring your dreams to pass regardless of your circumstances.

I quit my 10 year profession as an Optician when my son was born. And with nothing more then a bit of money I cashed out of my 401K I launched T Hawke Photography. What makes me who I am is years and years of starting from the bottom and devoting every extra moment I have into learning and perfecting my art. Blood sweat and tears ... when it is brought together with a passion. Everything becomes a part of you.

When I create an image I pour my heart and soul into what I do. When I deliver your images a part of me goes with them. It is so important to me that you love your portraits as much as I do. If you don't feel the emotion I pour into what I do.. then I have failed. A bride once told me " You actually care about your pictures..... some photographers just don't care." "They treat it as a job to get done" This was said to me as I walked with the couple outside in 90 degree heat to a back patio that was beautifully decorated with strings of lights. Not another soul to be found. I was going on my 11th hour that day but I wanted to get that one last shot that I knew was so important to them. Those words me meant the world to me. I drove home that night with a smile on my face. I never told the Bride this and maybe she will read it here and smile knowing how much I appreciate what she said.

In a world full of photographers you need to find one that speaks to your heart.. through the images they create.

What makes us all different is the passion we put into what we do. There is a "Brand" a certain feel that we bring to all our portraits and if my Brand matches the images of your dreams then perhaps I will stand apart from everyone else. Art has never been about who is better.. it has always been about how the artist makes you feel.

I leave you with some of my favorite images of all time.. The one I took with sweat running down my face, no tripod on hand, less then perfect lighting.. almost no lighting....and a vision in my heart to get that shot. It reminds me of a scene in one of my favorite movies of all time. In the movie 8 Seconds.. When Lane is dancing with is brand new bride .. the wind is blowing her dress and he is looking at her like she is the only women in the world..with beautiful lights just like these dancing above them.

What a blessing it is to be doing what I love .

Wedding Slideshow Gallery

With several of my Wedding Packages I offer a Video Slideshow of your Wedding Day. I wanted to be sure you understand that I do not actually do Video of your wedding. Most of my Brides and Grooms hire me to capture their entire day from start to finish. So much is put into planning that I as a photographer find it to be important to capture every detail. This might not seem important to you at this moment but I assure you when you look back on this day and see all the beautiful table décor that you spend months creating, all the decorations and color themes you dreamed up. All put together with images from your entire day start to finish.. well it brings tears to my eyes and these are not even videos of my wedding.

I just find them to be such a beautiful keepsake that you can watch over and over again whenever you want to be brought back to your Wedding Day. Go ahead and take a peak at one of the weddings I was blessed to be a part of. This was a 12 hour day that I split into three sections. I still tear up when I look back at them . Thank you Brandon and Valerie for making me a part of your Wedding Day.
