T Hawke Photography - Passion For Pets and Their People | Returning to the heart of me

Returning to the heart of me

This spring will be my 8th year in business. Within those eight years I have reached out and touched every aspect of photography. For those who have known me all this time you already know where I started.

T Hawke Photography began with a dream and a love for photography. I began by photographing shelter pets volunteering my time to give them photo makeovers. Animals with nice profile images get a lot more calls.. and find homes so much faster. There is nothing in this world that compares to the feeling of knowing that you helped a animal find a home . It is intoxicating and a labor of love by far.

I then started offering pet portrait sessions to anyone who wanted to capture the spirit of their much loved pets. It was where T Hawke Photography started and continued to grow into not just pet photography but families, senior sessions, and eventually weddings. My passion for storytelling has always been a part of every aspect of my work.

Everyone has a story - shelter pets have a story of loss and hope, pet portraits tell a story of that hope being found.. the bonds between pets and their forever families is bittersweet.

Then there is the joys of getting brand new puppy and the sadness of saying goodbye to an old friend.

For seniors it is the crossroad from high school to their future ahead. It is about capturing who they are now and who they want to be.

When it comes to newborns my favorite is to do home sessions. Not your average studio portraits. More of a story that includes your newborn baby and your lives as a whole. A little glimpse into the now that you can look back on and remember.... With dreamy eyes what it was like to bring your baby home. How your lives forever changed and sometimes I am lucky enough to watch these families grow year after year. What a blessing to be a part of it all.

Weddings are the ultimate story book. From beginning to end every little detail plays a part and it was always a part of my bigger picture in terms of where I would go in the future of my photography.

No matter what I am photographing there is one thing that always remains the same. Someday someone will look back at these photos and smile.. some will cry.. and all will cherish the memories. Life can change in the blink of an eye. All we really have is this moment. Right now.. this day.

I encourage you to take the time to book a session .. make that time and leave behind a memory.  Make it something beautiful.. print out those digital files and hang them on the wall.. I want you to walk past your portraits and smile because THAT day was when my pet was still with me.. THAT day was when my baby was born, THAT day was when I met the love of my life.. THAT day was when I left high school and began a new life. THAT day was a beautiful one and one I wish so desperately I could too . That moment will fade in your mind as the years go by but a photography is forever. And it will always take you back . ALWAYS!

My announcement for 2018 is a turn of events for me .  I will be returning to where I began and placing a huge focus on Pet Photography as a specialty.  Pets and their people and all the passion I have always had for them. It is where my heart and love for this business began and I truly think at this point in my journey it is where I would like to return. Specializing in pet photography and the people they love. I will of course still photograph so many other special events and some weddings as I have enjoyed every aspect of this job.  I encourage everyone to include their pets in their family sessions, senior sessions, any sessions.. because they are a part of you! Keep your eyes on my Facebook Page as I will be blogging in the next year about animals in need of homes and showing of some beautiful shelter makeovers!

My hope is to move forward with my digital pet paintings as well. I have come a long way in terms of creating some beautiful art work not just from the sessions I have with pet clients.. but from your very own images. I can take a cell phone picture and create a beautiful portrait for you to display. It is a art form I have grown to fall in love with and can't wait to share it with you all.

I look forward to what the future will bring and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And please remember Christmas is about so much more then gift giving. Its about a promise of hope and love. Remember when you go about your days that not everyone has someone.. not everyone has toys under the tree for their kids, not everyone has a wonderful Christmas meal and a family to share it with. Remember the true spirit of Christmas and let it last the whole next year. Be blessed my friends. I will see you in 2018!
